Chandler Macleod is working with a large mining company who currently have an employment opportunity for an experienced Sourcing Specialist, for a temporary 6 month position located in Perth.

The Specialist Role will be heavily focused on developing and executing engineering and construction project sourcing strategies, leading tendering activities and evaluations, conducting negotiations and extracting value, and contract conformance/award, to support the large sustaining capital portfolio of projects.



Key responsibilities of the role include:

Working closely with the portfolio (studies) team to understand and shape projects in their early development
Understanding the construction market, contractors and key contractual leavers to manage performance
Managing, developing and implementing project sourcing strategies encompassing the full project lifecycle - from pre-feasibility to feasibility to design, and construction
Undertaking sourcing activities including the development, negotiation and execution/implementation engineering and construction contracts
Developing and maintaining proactive, productive and results orientated relationships with key internal sustaining capital stakeholders
Proactively ensuring all procurement activities meet stakeholder timeline expectations
Effective and efficient hand over to post-award Contracts Advisor who will provide the project with commercial support during construction.

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to proactively manage stakeholders and build strong relationships
  • Effective time management skills, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) i.e. professional, succinct and clear
  • Proven track record of achieving outcomes through negotiation, influencing and collaboration
  • Significant Contract drafting and negotiation experience (for complex contracts)
  • Continuous improvement mindset, bringing the best from your RTP experience into sustaining capital
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Engineering and/or construction project experience (desirable)
