Position title: Snr Contracts Administrator - Infrastructure (Rail) - Government
Contract Estimation Duration: 3-6months (Possibility of further extension(s))
Company Type / Size: Government
Location: Flexible working (remote working and office attendance)
Salary / Rate: Grade 9
Purpose of this position:
The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective and efficient management of contracts administration and governance support to the management of the division's projects within a program, thereby providing specialist contract advice for projects.
Essential requirements

  • Minimum 2 years continuous contract administration experience on complex infrastructure projects (preferably rail).
  • Experience with all types of construction contracts including hard dollar and reimbursable;
  • Familiarity with payment and correspondence management systems including PMWeb, Desksite, and Teambinder (document management system);
  • Ability to read and interpret complex contractual terms and communicate the resultant contractual position in writing.
  • Able to act as a trusted commercial advisor to PMs and engineers.
  • Good understanding of contractual relationships in the construction industry.
  • Articulate communication skills, both verbal and written; and
  • Ability to mentor and manage less experienced Contract Administrators.
    General Requirements:
  • Oversee the compilation and construction of the tender, evaluation and selection of Professional Service Contracts, including obtaining firm prices and/or budget estimates for future works and variations and proof of necessary insurances
  • Review and analyse Contractor Claims, develop the clients' position with regards to risk profile and prepare notices in relation to the contract
  • Contribute to and manage the project forecasts and budget estimates for commercial department and participate in the development of the program forecasts.
  • Contribute to the identification, reporting and mitigation of project risks, including preparing monthly project reports to demonstrate the effective management of risks and successful project delivery
  • Contribute to the implementation and deployment of a project contract management framework and dispute resolution requirements that comply with government guidelines, policies and align with industry best practice
  • Manage and deliver projects as directed and participate in post implementation reviews to ensure benefits realisation and understand lesson to be learned
    Technical Scope:
  • Obtaining and understanding the needs and expectations of a wide range of stakeholders and communicating effectively with them
  • Engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders whose agendas / priorities might not always be aligned
    Education:
    Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience preferably including experience in supporting delivery/infrastructure projects
