Our client is seeking to engage a Site Manager on a Permanent, Full time contract.

Position Overview

Mission and priority objectives:
Coordinate and ensure the operation and maintenance of the facilities under its responsibility, in accordance with the Company procedures, contracts and regulations, as well as the guidelines of the Regional Manager in order to achieve the goals established to the role. Site Manager will report to Regional Manager. Site Manager role areas will be broken into asset performance, community engagement, contract monitoring, environmental and safety compliance, cost, and budget requirements which will be reviewed and reported periodically.

  • Ensure compliance with all the general health, safety and Environment requirements, criteria, policies, procedures defined by the client and regulations in the operation and maintenance of the facilities under your responsibility, by carrying out any actions assigned or deemed necessary.
  • Review, understand and implement safe work systems according to Site Management Plans (Either the client’s or O&M Contractors) that cover all Site activities.
  • Develop and maintain a work environment with a greater awareness of safety, environment and quality.
  • Supervise all site activities either executed by contracted companies or own personnel. Ensure work carried out by contractors and contracted personnel are in line with their company processes and a standard equal to or above the client.
  • Carry out regular inspections providing assurance of compliance and identifying potential hazards.
  • Assist the client in developing assurance processes where directed.
  • Raise and share all Improvement and safety notices where appropriate with site contractors with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Verify that Contractors notify all incidents related to safety, the environment and production (this last according to the contract requirements),
  • Report to the Regional Manager and other applicable departments and actively participate in investigation of all operational, environmental, and safety incidents to determine root cause. Propose corrective, preventive and/ or improvement actions within the scope of continuous improvement.
  • To follow up on action plan to correct deviations detected during regular inspections, incidents or accidents safety, environmental or operational.
  • Use and keep up to date all systems and tools used by the client to track and report on all incidents and non-compliances.
  • Complete and keep up to date all relevant site information, documentation, and reporting in the Management Systems and tools provided by the client these can be updated or modified from time to time (Prosafety, Themis, Enablon, Softexpert)
  • Ensure all site contractors are appropriately onboarded and approved in the client’s onboarding process as well as any local site requirements.
  • Assist when directed by the company in acquiring and maintaining ISO certifications, working within the framework set up by the client.
  • Ensure that the works are performed according to established procedures, instructions or safety checklists ensuring the quality in the works deemed necessary.
  • Ensure the certifications and necessary qualification from the subcontracted services
Operation and Maintenance
  • Day to day running and supervision of the client Operation Sites, reporting directly to the Regional Manager.
  • Take the necessary actions to ensure that all the contracted personnel in your charge work safely and efficiently while maximizing the generation and availability of the wind turbines in the day to day
  • Review and survey the progress of the annual maintenance plans considering the time of year, potential generation, contractual requirements, and availability. Track the progress of the annual work planning, using MMS system information, relevant maintenance indicators and requesting that O&M Contractor corrects any deviation detected.
  • Review weekly programmed maintenance planning’s or other periodical plans provided according to the O&M contract. Ask for modifications for justified reasons related to predicted production, as long as this does not compromise the integrity and safety of the equipment or personnel.
  • Plan any additional corrective maintenance required to be included within the plan ensuring this is scheduled to maximize production and efficiency.
  • Monitor of anomalous conditions and communicate to O&M Contractor case under its scope or take care of resolution case under the client. To plan corrective maintenance work at the most appropriate time based on criticality, production maximization and efficiency
  • Ensure site carry out periodic inspections in accordance with client’s specifications alongside both electrical, mechanical, hydraulic component replacements and troubleshooting.
  • Regular audits of site roads, hardstands, drainage waterways & environment requirements.
  • Verify that O&M Contractor keeps a record of all maintenance tasks carried out on Site in MMS system.
  • Interlocution with O&M Contractor Site Manager and other position within O&M Contractor.
  • Review Contractor’s reports.
  • Contract compliance follow up.
  • Follow up on Operational and O&M Contractual KPIs and participate in periodical reconciliation processes with O&M Contractor ) unavailability, efficiency, production,…)
  • Interlocution with O&M Contractor Control Room.
  • Work closely with the client’s control room located in Canberra. Control room operators monitor and provide analytical data on a 24/7 rotating roster.
  • Liaise weekly or any other needed period with the client’s control room to update on plant outages, upcoming maintenance, and asset optimization.
  • Ensure all facilities owned by the client are maintained in accordance with contractual arrangements and to a high standard taking into consideration legal and OEM requirements.
  • Supervise the inventory of tools, consumables and spare parts of the  Sites of your responsibility. Verify the O&M Contractor keeps the warehouse clean and tidy and that spare parts are properly organised and maintained. Whenever possible, verify that the spare parts in Warehouse are controlled by O&M Contractor such that any movements are recorded and safety stock is kept.
  • Regularly liaise with the local landowners and neighbours to ensure relationships are maintained and community members are up to date with the ongoings of the facility
  • Attend complaints, keep communication records of those, investigation of complaints. Ensure complaint plan is follow from site point of view.
  • Attend community meetings and other requirements from community agreements.
  • Propose and, where appropriate, implement the improvements and modifications to the equipment and facilities that are necessary to optimize the operational processes
  • Actively participate in major modification activities performed on site aligned with your roles and responsibilities.
  • Complete and ensure all training required and designated by the company is kept up to date
  • Work with Regional Manager and Finance team in formulating the yearly budget. Ensure adherence onsite periodical reporting in a timely manner any and all deviations.
  • Complete those Compliance actions assigned.
  • Procurement. Carry out or collaborate with Regional Manager in procurement process for acquisition of  services and supplies, purchase request, ask for quotation, purchase order ,…
  • Manage warranty claims of any Contract executed on Site
  • Actively participate in definition of Punch list, its periodical follow up till resolution and management of warranty claims of Construction Contracts
  • Actively participate in Preoperative activities during Preoperative phase.
  • To follow up predictive maintenance activities both from O&M Contractor or other to facilitate early detection of failures.
  • Ensure correct operation and performance of the Site equipment by means of both systematic physical checks and information provided in Scada, CMMS or other available.
  • To actively collaborate in development and implementation of any digitalization action or set by the company related to your roles and responsibilities
  • Carry out all reasonable requests set by the company aligning with your roles and responsibilities
  • Maintain a high degree of order and cleanliness in the facilities under your supervision. Care of assets and equipment.

Initial training: 
  • Training on the systems used in Naturgy and the client’s and the procedures and rules applicable to the same.

  • Requisites of the post                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    
Academic training:         
  • Vocational Educational Training (VET) or Associate Degree. Preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Specific training:              
  • Training related to renewables assets maintenance will be positively evaluated.
  • Professional experience (area of activity, time in the post, functions):
  • 5 years of experience in supervision positions in renewable energy generation plants.
Specific knowledge:      
  • Substantial knowledge of the practices functions and processes that the operation of a generation plant entails (preferably renewable).
  • Knowledge of the legislation typically associated with the operation of Generation Plants in Australia.
  • Knowledge of rotatory equipment monitoring.
  • Failure analysis.
