Our client is seeking to engage a Site Manager on a Permanent, Full Time Position.

Position Overview

In this role, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following.

  • Review, Understand and implement all site management plans supplied by either business or O&M contractors.
  • Monitor all site activities and ensure necessary processes and procedures are implemented and adhered to by contracted companies and personnel.
  • Review and monitor the progress of the annual maintenance plans considering the time of year, potential generation, contractual requirements, and availability.
  • Plan any additional corrective maintenance required to be included within the yearly plan ensuring this is scheduled to maximize production and efficiency.
  • Ensure work carried out by O&M contractors and contracted personnel are in line with their company processes and a standard equal to or above BUSINESS's own. Carry out regular inspections providing assurance.
  • Work closely with the business control room located in Canberra. Control room operators monitor and provide analytical data on a 24/7 rotating roster.
  • Liaise weekly with the business control room to update on plant outages, upcoming maintenance, and asset optimization.
  • Report on all operational, environmental, and safety incidents to the Regional Operations Manager and applicable departments.
  • Use and keep up to date all systems and tools used by the company to track and report on all incidents and non-compliances.
  • Ensure safe work systems are established to cover all activities carried out at the facility.
  • Develop and maintain a work environment with a greater awareness of safety and quality, and ensure compliance with all of the Health, Safety, and Environment requirements, both legislative and those of business.
  • Raise and share all Improvement and safety notices where appropriate with site contractors with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all facilities owned by business are maintained in accordance with contractual arrangements and to a high standard taking into consideration legal and OEM requirements.
  • Complete and keep up to date all relevant site information, documentation, and reporting in the Management Systems and tools provided by the company these can be updated or modified from time to time.
  • Regularly liaise with the business community officer or local landowners to ensure relationships are maintained and community members are up to date with the ongoings of the facility
  • Assist when directed by the company in acquiring and maintaining ISO certifications, working within the framework set up by the business.
  • Ensure that the works are performed according to established policies, procedures, and instructions. Assist the company in developing assurance processes where directed.
  • Ensure all contractors utilized onsite are appropriately onboarded and approved in business's onboarding process as well as any local site requirements
  • Complete and ensure all training required and designated by the company is kept up to date
  • Work with the Regional Manager and Finance team in formulating the yearly budget. Ensure adherence onsite reporting in a timely manner any and all deviations.
  • Ensure that all the general health and safety criteria and regulations defined by the Company are met in your working environment and within the scope of your specific functions and competencies, by carrying out any actions assigned or deemed necessary to implement the culture of anticipation to the risk and the prevention of accidents
  • Carry out all reasonable requests set by the company aligning with your roles and responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications.

➢ Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a site manager or similar. Preferably experience in renewable energy generation or a similar industry.

➢ Specific Knowledge:

  • Substantial knowledge of the practices, functions, and processes required to operate generation assets.
  • Knowledge of the legislation typically associated with the operation of Generation Plants in Australia.
  • Knowledge of the operation of the Australian energy market.
  • Experience in power generation or high voltage industry preferred.
  • Contractor management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of compliance and the requirements to maintain.
  • Ideally you have a proven track record delivering operational performance targets.
  • A trade background and experience in construction and/or operations.
  • Relevant qualification in utilities industries.
  • Strong programming, budgeting, people/contractor management, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and outcome-focused individual.
  • Advocate for safety and an inclusive and open culture.

  • Maintain C class driver's license.
  • GWO Basic.
  • Cert IV WHS
  • Cert IV Leadership and Management
