Our client, a major Government department, is recruiting a Site Engineer (Civil) to join a large infrastructure upgrade project in South-East Queensland.

The position is offered on an initial 12-month contract, however has the potential to extend until 2023 or until project completion. While based in the Gold Coast office, the successful applicant will be required to travel to site as per the project stages. Occasional night and weekend work will be required in this role.

About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Site Engineer will assist the project team in achieving project delivery objectives. You will play a key role in identifying and recording road infrastructure asset information to support effective Building Information Modelling and support the project team with the delivery of major infrastructure contracts, including site inspection of activities to support

the delivery of the upgrade.

While some experience in the delivery of road infrastructure is preferred, this is an entry level engineering opportunity and would be suit those with a basic knowledge of road infrastructure and an interest in pursuing a career in client-side project management of transport infrastructure and/or digital engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Under guidance and supervision;

  • Proactively capture and record road infrastructure asset information to support effective Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure quality management procedures are adhered to, and where required, undertake inspection of works and release hold points during construction activities
  • Work within a project team and liaise with stakeholders, design consultants and civil contractors
  • Assist in the delivery of major infrastructure contracts by supporting Project Managers with completing assigned tasks
  • Promote and contribute to a safe, healthy and sustainable workforce

About You

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification which is accepted by Engineers Australia (requirement)
  • Current holder of Class C driver's licence
  • Ability to pass a Criminal History Check
  • OH&S Construction Induction (white card or equivalent) will be required by the successful applicant prior to commencement of work
