Our client is the world's largest provider of commercial explosives and innovative blasting systems to the mining, quarrying, oil and gas and construction markets, a leading supplier of sodium cyanide for gold extraction, and a specialist provider of ground support services in mining and tunneling.

They are seeking a dynamic administrator to join their team. The role will be in their Boggabri office. The right candidate would be proactive and uses their initiative, is willing to learn and take on task and is easy going. Should also be able to handle stress and heavy workloads.

The team is highly engaged, friendly and all focused on working together to achieve their goals of delivering safe projects on time and budget. To be suitable you should have site administration experience, knowledge of MS office with intermediate word and excel, and high attention to detail.

About the role

This will be a varied role and could include:

  • Coordinate and schedule new employee site inductions and mandatory training courses (internal and external), e.g. CABA, UG Generic, Working at Heights, Confined Space, as notified by the Training Coordinator and line manager.
  • Maintain general office process & procedures including filing and archiving and share point;
  • Assist Operations Managers with SOM requests as required.
  • Manage Asset Register and assist sites with purchasing of smaller consumable items not included as part of the appointed purchasing support roles.
  • Support operational execution (procedures, work instructions, process).
  • Raising purchase requisitions and goods receipting of invoices.
  • Provide support in preparation for site audits or initiatives.
  • Entering data for SAP Plant Maintenance.
  • Schedule periodic medicals as listed in Enablon database and notify employees & Site Supervisor accordingly.
  • Assist Site Supervisors with updates of Site Safety Management Plan (i.e. Security Plan, Emergency Plan, Fire Risk Management Plan etc.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a business administration role, preferably with previous experience in administering employee timesheets and ensuring employee payroll information is correct at all times;
  • Certificate in Business Administration (desirable);
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to negotiate and influence people effectively;
  • Good knowledge of Lotus Notes & Microsoft Outlook;
  • Computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Excel, Office & PowerPoint;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Excellent organisation skills;
