About the role
We are partnering with a renowned organisation, to secure the services of an experienced professional to perform the role of Shutdown Safety Specialist. This is a FIFO role, with the swing yet to be determined as will be negotiable for the right candidate.
The Safety Specialist is accountable to the Superintendent for Safety Support of the Shutdown.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

  • Managing and coordinating all HSEC pre-loading during the planning phase of the Shutdown.
  • Manage and coordinate key safety activities during the shut down
  • Complete HSEC Shutdown report and lessons learnt.

    To be successful in this role, you will require the following work experience:
  • Previous experience pertaining to construction, maintenance, mining / oil & gas operations
  • Formal HSE qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies
  • Utilisation of root cause analysis tools for incident investigation (e.g. TapRoot, Essential Factors, ICAM or similar)
  • Previous contractor management experience

    Ideal candidates must also hold the following prerequisites:
  • Provide a current National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one
  • Provide a current Drivers Licence
