Experienced Shotfirers WANTED

We are currently seeking experienced Shotfirers. The roles present fantastic ongoing opportunities with the view to move to a permanent position and will be Fly in, Fly out from Perth WA on an 2/1 roster.

  • $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
  • Super on all hours
  • 2/1 Roster based at Mt Morgans
  • Ongoing roles with permanent opportunities

    The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Experience within a mining operation environment - minimum 2 years' experience preferably in gold and hard rock.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment
  • Current valid driver's licence
  • Ability to pass a medical
  • Current work rights in Australia
  • Current National Police Clearance within 6 months

    Job Responsibilities:

    Health, Safety and Risk
  • Complete pre-start checks
  • Attend and participate in PSI and safety meetings
  • Complete Mac 5's and be involved in the development of JSEA's when required
  • Inspect work area and equipment for hazards, damage, and defects prior to commencing work
  • Ensure individual compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, Client instructions, policies, procedures, and practices
  • Safe and efficient operation of the stemming loaders and light vehicles

  • Ensure all relevant documents are submitted on time for processing
  • Record all shift report data correctly and on time (i.e. daily explosive usage sheets, quality assurance documentation etc.)
  • Maintain all assets to a high standard
  • Ensure Explosive Management Plan is complied with
  • Ensure security of explosives
  • Inspect and service equipment
  • Test firing patterns
  • Inspecting and firing the blast, detonating misfires, and declaring site safe
  • Ensure explosive delineation and security of explosives is in line with site requirements
  • All duties as directed by the Supervisor

  • Operate machine in competent manner without causing damage to equipment
  • Ensure work is done correctly the first time to the acceptable standard so there is no rework
  • Perform duties in a cost-effective manner
  • Team Contribution

    Personally, adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, and support employees and contractors to also comply Willingness to fill in for the Leading Hand when required
