Chandler Macleod in partnership with ProReman Australia, are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Co-Ordinator (SHEQ Co-Ordinator) for their site in Heidelberg, Inner Northern Suburbs of VIC.
This position is responsible for the co-ordination of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Assurance systems across the organisation. Responsible for driving our ‘safety first’ culture by overseeing all workplace health and safety strategy and initiatives.
The role will champion work health and safety engagement at all levels of the business by continuing to coach and enhance our capability and resilience in practices and systems that support and protect the health and safety of our people.

Key Accountabilities or Activities:
- Facilitate and lead the co-ordination, auditing, review, and continued maintenance of all ISO documentation
- Implement standards, procedures and policies in line with company standards and legal requirements
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments, investigate, and provide solutions of non-conformances and incidents
- Monitor and drive workers compensation, injury management, early intervention performance
- Conduct SHEQ audits on sites,
- Lead and drive company wide policy and risk management projects
- Develop monthly reports and analyses business data trends for future proactive strategies
- Communicate, promote, and manage the company’s vision with respect to creating a safe working environment
- Liaise with all levels of management in the development and review of safety projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we have work processes and procedures that drive a culture of safety
- Define and set targets as well as monitor actual performance in relation to SHEQ metrics
- Conduct and analyse initial incident investigation and guide immediate incident response protocols, ensuring proactive corrective actions
- Advise and provide SHEQ guidance to management and project teams
- Preparation and lodgement of monthly sustainability reporting
- Establishing an effective Health and Safety Committee at all work sites
- Co-ordinate and follow up environmental reporting, projects, and strategies
- Co-ordination and active delivery of on-site training and toolbox talks including SHEQ inductions
- Responsibility to maintain Chemwatch
- Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude
- Maintain confidentiality over all company information
- Promote the company image
- Experience in a similar SHEQ role within the Manufacturing/Mining Industry - preferred but not essential
- Risk Assessment facilitation experience
- ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & OHAS 18001 (Implementation and Auditing)
- 5+ years in Environmental and Sustainability role in manufacturing, mining, construction or similar.
- Experience in management of High Hazard and Risk Activities.
- Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and lead group presentations / public speaking
- In depth understanding of, and experience adhering to relevant laws/ standards.
- Experience in HAZCHEM risk control and management.
- Demonstrated success in delivering Environmental and Sustainability objectives incl. culture change
- Lead Auditor: Environment / Quality Management System
- First Aid Certification
- Ability to travel and work independently / remotely as required
- Self-managed, task focused and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Highly competent computer skills including excel, word, email
- Ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and multi task on a daily basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare professionally presented written reports
- Team focus with an ability to build professional relationships
- 95k + super for the right candidate
