We are seeking a Service Leader - Libraries to take the Coffs Harbour Library team into the future including their transition into Yarrila Place in the heart of the Coffs Harbour city centre, scheduled to open in mid-2023. This exciting new building will include a central library over three floors with dedicated spaces for Children and Youth, as well as a new combined regional gallery and museum, and a range of program spaces including the arts workshop, a Makespace, and Digital Creative Studio.

Why the team needs you

The role is a key leadership position within the Cultural Services Team, reporting directly to the Team Leader Cultural Services. The position will lead the Libraries Unit to provide comprehensive, innovative services, resources, and initiatives to provide arts, cultural, and lifelong learning opportunities for Coffs Harbour residents and visitors through its library network, other Council services/facilities and partnerships. Through a collaborative approach to team culture, the Service Leader will coordinate their team's activities, and lead change and improvement opportunities across their functional areas to ensure operational excellence.

It is essential that you are collaborative and possess exceptional communication skills ensuring effective participation from all stakeholder groups to build trust, balance expectations and influence in an ever- changing environment. In this role you will inspire direction and purpose and draw upon your proven leadership skills to grow, lead, and motivate your team. You will possess degree or post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Services and be experienced in managing library services with a contemporary mindset.
