Senior Technical and R&D Officer

Chandler MacLeod are currently recruiting for an experienced "Senior Technical and R&D Officer" in the Goulburn Murray region of Victoria. Our client, a leading manufacturer of a wide range of well known retail/FMCG products is experience strong growth in their standard product range. As a result of this, they require a suitably experienced and enthusiastic candidate to drive the NPD/R&D process to drive the expansion of their product development.

Skills & Experience
Working within established team cultures, this role will be charged with taking ownership of the NPD Pipeline & Process along with the ownership of specification validation process & methodology inclusive of laboratory management. This role will also be involved in supporting the Manufacturing Plants' Continuous Process Improvement Process. Other responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the development of new products based on business objectives and marketing development requests.
  • Managing laboratories to ensure equipment, chemicals and test procedures meet all requirements.
  • Manage the formulations and development of all Private Label Tenders.
  • Maintain contact with various testing authorities to ensure that all products comply.
  • Assist in site Process Chemistry problem solving and improvement projects as required with Operations Teams.
    About You
    In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be able to demonstrate your 'can-do' attitude along with your strong technical NPD/R&D background. The following strengths and skills will also be evident within your employment history:
  • Tertiary Qualification in a Science or Engineering related discipline.
  • FMCG manufacturing experience (preferably within liquids, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics).
  • A minimum of 5 years experience within R&D Management.
  • A broad range of technical skills including lab bench testing, formulation development, process control, NPD innovation & Technical Regulatory compliance.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
