Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Senior Regulatory Officer on a contract for 10 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

  • Contribute to the management and development of the team to ensure high levels of professionalism and integrity while meeting required assessment timeframes. This includes conducting assessments and reviews.
  • Exercising delegations in relation to project assessment, regulation and budget expenditure as appropriate.
  • Managing situations involving a high level of complexity and sensitivity which require considerable legislative interpretation and analysis while adhering to procedure and guidelines.
  • Communicate and make decisions that are based on professional judgement, evaluating risks and in the context of a complex and changing environment.
  • Research, review, provide input to and evaluate project methodologies, systems, tools and programs to achieve agency objectives and address opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage procurement and contract processes when required
  • Development of communication and education materials
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities for a project or program.
  • Develop productive and professional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Assist in staff supervision, training and development


  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and engage with highly technical information and complex legislation is essential.
  • Qualifications in chemistry, agriculture, environmental science, mathematics or similar are essential in order to engage with the complex accounting for emission reductions and storage.
  • Experience in working with or understanding of the Emissions Reduction fund legislation would be very highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, including the ability to explain complex concepts to a wide audience is essential.
