Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6/EL1 Senior Property Officer on a contract for 12 Months, with potential extensions of 4 months.

Position Overview

The Regional Property Officers form part of the Regional Property teams and fill key roles supporting National Lease Management, National Facilities Management, National Capital Works and Physical Security Directors in the delivery of the client's strategic approach to the ongoing acquisition, development, investment and maintenance of the property portfolio across the relevant zones and sites.

The Regional Property team are located with zone National Manager teams to provide geographic coverage of property services delivery nationally. In this respect, these staff perform critical roles in the ongoing management of internal and external stakeholders, including zone staff and the client's property services provider.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Assistant Director to manage client's sites to ensure they are "clean, safe, accessible and open next business day", including the delivery of the annual capital works programme projects for the relevant zone.
  • Assist is managing the ongoing preventive and reactive property works program.
  • Assist in delivering disaster preparedness and response from a property perspective.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of policy and operational process documentation that supports the governance, oversight and management of capital works, facilities and physical security management.
  • Maintain appropriate governance, including: holding regular project meetings, determining Project Scope, tender documentation and evaluation oversight, preparation of spend proposals, detailed programme reporting, rigorous contract management and handover of completed projects.
  • Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of opportunities to improve processes, including providing input to relevant internal policies and guidelines.
  • Assist with the preparation of briefings and technical position papers as required, and provide other administrative support as necessary.
  • Undertake effective communication with internal and external stakeholders as directed and appropriate.
