The Role


We have partnered with the NSW Government to recruit for a Senior Project Officer, Mental Health to start ASAP on a year contract.

As Senior Project Officer you will contribute to the Mental Health Pathways in Practice (MHPiP) program through developing, implementing and evaluating key project deliverables. This includes the development of blended work-based learning pathways, engagement in governance committees and working groups and leading the evaluation element of the program including management of ethics applications through the Research Ethics Governance Information System (REGIS).


Key Accountabilities:

  • Display high level leadership; communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lead, manage and support the progression of high quality project management for the development, implementation evaluation and ongoing sustainability of the Mental Health Pathways in Practice (MHPiP), producing high quality professional
    project documentation including project and implementation plans, reports, briefs and related material.
  • Analyse, research, resolve and/or escalate any issues related to the MHPiP program to ensure outcomes are achieved.
  • Lead education planning, design, delivery (using existing and emerging technologies/simulation) and evaluation.
  • Lead the evaluation element of the program including management of ethics applications through the Research Ethics Governance Information System (REGIS) and liaising with the independent data analysis and reporting vendor.
  • Actively contribute as part of a cohesive, engaged, high performing and productive team that collaborated with and shares resources and expertise across the HETI teams and external groups, to support project outcomes for NSW Health.
  • Liaise and manage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including the Local Health Districts and Networks, NSW Health Pillars, Ministry of Health, education providers and other key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrating highly developed organisational skills and the ability to successfully manage competing issues and meet deadlines.



Essential requirements:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in education and/or at least five years relevant education/training work-related experience
  2. Highly developed project management and organisational skills and experience within a complex organisation, including the ability to successfully manage competing issues and meet deadlines.
  3. Demonstrated high level skills in leading educational design, course development related to work-based education and training solutions that focus on quality enhancement.
  4. Demonstrated high-level skill in managing educational evaluation including experience of managing Human Research Ethics Applications (HREA) via the Research Ethics Governance Information System (REGIS) or similar system.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, to influence and achieve optimal strategic and business outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts, competing demands and prioritising resources.
  7. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills with applications e.g. Microsoft and aptitude for learning other information management systems
