About the Team
The Market Innovation and Employment Branch is responsible for the development of a mature marketplace in Assistive Technology (AT), Employment Options and Workforce Development. It does this through the design and review of policy and practice approaches that enable providers to grow and innovate in the preparation for and delivery of supports to participants in the scheme.
The AT Sourcing and Markets Performance team leads the development and negotiation of market supply and sector enablement initiatives relating to AT. The team work to ensure there is clarity for all stakeholders in the role of and approach to AT supply under the scheme to ensure timely access for participants to the right AT to pursue their goals and outcomes.

About the Role
The APS6 Senior Project Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.
The position is a team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. The position will be required to assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency's objectives.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
Has a good understanding of the policies of the Australian Government, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, in particular the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and procurement connected policies.
Ability to organise work, sets priorities and complete tasks within set timeframes.
High levels of attention to detail including data accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to modify messages to diverse audiences.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Well-developed skills in communication, analysis and problem solving.
Contract management and/or program management experience.

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to assisting and supporting:
AT procurement activities.
Stakeholder engagement (internal & external) to develop policy and processes for quality and value for money participant AT sourcing options.
Liaising with different market elements and supply/provision enablers to make available workable AT market solutions (including facilitating workshops, focus groups etc.)
Supporting the continued development of the AT Market Strategy for a range of participant cohorts and AT submarkets.
Developing and coordinating the monitoring and evaluation of trials, staged implementation and ongoing market delivery approaches for participant AT.
Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
Job Specification for: APS6 Senior Project Officer
Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
