Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Project Support Officer on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role:

You will be part of the Immunoglobulin Governance team. This team supports governments, health services and health care professionals to improve patient outcomes through the appropriate utilisation of blood and blood products and in particular immunoglobulin (Ig).

The Ig Governance program aims to improve the governance and management of publicly funded Ig to ensure that product use and management reflects appropriate clinical practice, represents efficient, effective and ethical expenditure of government funds and accords with relevant national safety and quality standards for health care. Your role will be to manage projects relating to the development, review, promulgation and evaluation of governance arrangements for immunoglobulin products.

Our Client is looking for great people with a demonstrated record in exercising initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and the application of practices and procedures; in providing detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems; in applying strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills; and who have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Although not exhaustive, the duties and responsibilities of this position will require you to:

  • Manage the data analysis and reporting for Ig governance using several complex data sets in Microsoft Excel, working closely with both the Ig Governance team and data team, as required This may include defining new data requests, clarifying issues and analysis;
  • Undertake detailed analysis of reports and proposals and formulate recommendations;
  • Prepare papers, minutes, presentations and correspondence;
  • Manage projects, programs and contracts in accordance with the objectives of the National Blood Agreement and government policies;
  • Build effective relationships and achieve negotiation outcomes with internal and external stakeholders Assist in coordinating and managing human and financial resources, workflow and team performance as requsired;
  • Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team and assist in coaching, mentoring and developing team members and implementing organisational change as required;
  • Propose and implement innovations within a culture of continuous improvement; and
  • Contribute to organisational strategy and culture.
