Chandler Macleod has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join one of the worlds leading Gold Mining companies. This is a Perth based role working a 5/2 roster out of our clients Perth office, with potential site visits required. This role will provide specialist engineering advice to the Study Manager for infrastructure and tailings storage facility expansion.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Project engineering/management experience at study work and/or detailed engineering phases involving Civil + SMP E&I packages design (desirable) and responsible for/managing third party contractors and consultants
  • Sound scope of work & report writing skills to complement study reports
  • Manage technical queries from contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Undertake technical evaluation of bids on mechanical and electrical equipment, multidisciplined engineering work.
  • Project management knowledge specially managing third party contractors and consultants and OEM vendors.
  • Engineering Best Practice and change management experience is highly desirable.
  • Writing reports and hands on command over MS Office packages including Word and advance Excel.

Qualifications and skills required:
  • Ability to prioritize work and fit for purpose orientation.
  • Civil / Mechanical/Geotechnical or Electrical Engineering Degree recognized by Engineers Australia
  • Experience in large scale, complex processing facilities or heavy industrial site maintenance and operation, or design and commissioning of brown and greenfield facilities.
  • Have an understanding and passion for engineering and asset management principles and demonstrated experience in implementing long term asset management plans and strategies.
  • Knowledge of applicable statutory regulations and standards including Western Australian Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations MSIA/MSIR, and experience implementing them in a dynamic work environment.
