Chandler Macleod are very proud to be supporting Fortescue Metals Group with sourcing an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong SMP background for steel pipeline construction projects on their Iron Bridge site.

The role of the Senior Project Engineer is to provide technical support using initiatives and applying engineering techniques, assisting with providing land usage certificates, managing technical queries, site visits & field leaderships for the duration of the project.

Key accountabilities will include:

· Maintain focus on team objectives and provide technical/problem solving guidance to engineers
· Assist with filing quality and construction records
· Liaising with relevant departments within FMG and the Construction Contractor
· Raising requisitions and pursuing purchase orders as required
· All other general Project Engineer activities
· Ensure correct application of Health & Safety standards including Change Management
· Monitor quality assurance of critical processes
· Achieve targets set for defined sections of area budgets

Qualifications and skills required:

· Minimum 5+ years SMP experience in an engineering and/or projects role
· Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
· Mining experience in hard rock applications
· Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
· Excellent problem solving skills and continual improvement focus
· Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations
· Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP
· Great communication skill
· Planning, organisational, budgeting, scheduling and coordination skills
