We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Director (Renewable Energy) for our client, a NSW Government agency, on an initial 12 month contract (with strong possibility of extension) to be based in their new offices in Sydney CBD and with the flexibility of WFH. The daily rate is up to $1600 per day including super.

The Role:


Reporting to the Director - Strategic Projects, the Senior Project Director will be responsible for the successful delivery of the pilot project and due diligence program. In addition the Senior Project Director will provide support to the Director - Strategic Projects to successfully deliver the overall project including a final business case for the project. The client has recently established the Renewable Energy Infrastructure Project and the initial objective of which is to assess the value to the State that may be derived from the large-scale deployment of solar PV systems, batteries, demand response initiatives and electric vehicle charge points. A strategic business case is currently being prepared for this project.


Key accountabilities

  • Ensuring the pilot project and due diligence program deliver the required outcomes which will evolve during the course of the project / program based on the progressive learnings from the pilot project, due diligence program and the project more broadly.
  • Project / Program planning, reporting, financial management
  • Proactively working with the Director - Strategic Projects to successfully deliver the overall project objectives.
  • Managing up to 3 direct plus additional contingent workers as operationally required.
  • A program of projects with a total value $20M.


Essential requirements

  • A minimum 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience, understanding and/or interest in renewable energy.
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, building, infrastructure, project management, construction or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully managing projects and leading building / infrastructure project teams.
  • Current general construction induction card (White card), or attainment of one within a reasonable timeframe.
