One of our clients, a well-known entity in Regional Western Australian, is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Procurement Contracting Advisor to join the Chandler Macleod team. This is a 6-8 week temporary position, with a possibility to extend depending on operational requirements.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Project manage the implementation of a centre-led procurement and contract management model.
  • Provide leadership direction on and continuous improvement of procurement and contract management practices at the Town ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and the Town's policies and procedures.
  • Drive and culture of continuous improvement, performance and customer focus within the Procurement team.
  • Develop, manage and implement a procurement training plan for new existing staff and organisations
  • Develop, manage and implement effective in-house training for internal personnel to support effective contract management
  • Reduce business risk through the development, implementation, and review of robust Procurement and Contracting Policies and Procedures, including guidelines, methodologies, tolls and templates.
  • Coordinate all procurement and contracting activities across the organisation ensuring that good governance and probity are maintained at all times.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement process, contract development, contract award and contract management to business areas undertaking procurement.
  • Ensure the current procurement and contracting processes and practices are optimally utilised and provide "best practice" centre-led procurement.

    Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Government (Procurement and Contracting)
  • Procurement and/or Supply, Contract Management, Commerce or similar (Degree or higher)
  • Proven project management experience

    Candidates must also be able to:
  • Sound working knowledge of tendering and best practice guidelines
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current 'C' class drivers' licence
  • Easily pass a Pre-Employment, drug and alcohol screen
