One of our clients, a major manufacturer and supplier of chemical, gas and fertiliser businesses that service a range of sectors in both domestic and international markets, is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer based at their Perth plant (SOR) a period 12 months with possible extension of a further 12 months on a Monday - Friday (38 hour week) roster.


An opportunity exists for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer (7 to 10 years) to be part of the owner's project team for a FEED study for an operational Ammonia Plant.

The responsibility areas for the position will be:

  • Retrieval and collation of relevant technical information to support project information requirements ie Data sheet, Drawings, MDRs, Survey reports, Standards, Engineering specifications etc).
  • Responding to Mechanical discipline related TQs from EPCM contractor and providing technical advice as required.
  • Review and approval of design deliverables;
  • Actively contributing to HAZOP, HAZID, Design Reviews
  • Proactively work towards achieving design, construction and commissioning goals/ targets, by closely coordinating with Project and Operations teams

Successful candidates will have the following work experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Degree
  • 7-10 years + experience in chemical, manufacturing or mineral processing industry
  • MUST HAVE experience working on an operational chemical plant, for brownfield project delivery
  • Deep relevant technical knowledge
  • Sound contractor management
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

The successful candidate will be required to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug Screen and provide a current WA Drivers Licence and Australian working rights.
