Our client is a large ASX listed organisation who is looking for a Senior HR specialist, responsible for contributing to the effective delivery of human resources services throughout, particularly in industrial relations activities.

About the role:

  • In accordance with the Clients Management Systems, perform the works as directed, with particular emphasis on safety, efficiency and quality;
  • Ensure compliance with Clients's Management Systems and the relevant statutory regulations;
  • Strictly adhere to the Client's Philosophy, Guidelines for Success and Code of Conduct;
  • In consultation with the Human Resources Manager, provide an advisory service to sites on HR management, employee relations and performance management;
  • Deliver human resources services and advice in a prompt and professional manner;
  • Advise and participate in when required on performance management processes;
  • Contribute to and lead when required Enterprise Agreement negotiations and documentation;
  • Conduct workplace investigations when required;
  • Coordinate and deliver learning and development activities;
  • Lead the HR team when required;
  • Coach and coordinate the HR grads;
  • Coordinate project start-ups and ensure project mobilisations are carried out in accordance with project requirements and Clients's recruitment & HR processes;
  • Contribute to legal matters and assist with legislative compliance;
  • Visit sites on a regular basis and as urgent needs arise;
  • Ensure regular contact and relationship building with sites;
  • Coordinate existing employee employment contracts;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures;
  • Review and approve wages and salary pay runs when required;
  • Assist with HR projects as required

About you:

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • Experience in human resources including employee relations and Enterprise Agreements;
  • Mining, construction or heavy industry experience;
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint;
  • Exposure to working with a HRIS or HR database;
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, meet tight timeframes and work under pressure;

  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to problem solve and be adaptable;
  • A drive for continuous improvement and contribute to an environment of 'innovation';
  • Confidentiality on all personnel and sensitive matters;
  • The ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels
