Our client provides an extensive range of Community Health Services to the community. Covering all ages from children to older people, and work along different stages from prevention and early intervention, through to treatment and the long-term management of complex or chronic conditions.
The service aims to promote the health and well being of clients through education, assessment, implementation of care, and referral to appropriate services as required.

On behalf of our client we are seeking a Finance a Professional for an immediate start.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
As the Senior Finance Specialist ,you would be responsible for providing management expertise in relation to the financial, budget, activity and management accounting to assist in the effective utilisation of resources and achievement of targeted KPIs within the organisation This includes the development of the annual budget/ business plan, the ongoing review and analysis of operating and financial results.

KEY CHALLENGES

  • Managing a number of tasks concurrently, with varying timelines and workloads, in a high pressure, high volume work environment
  • Responding to service demands within allocated resources
  • Lead complex organisational wide projects ensuring high levels of stakeholder input, often with staff that have limited formal financial management training or experience.
  • Promote a workforce culture of ongoing self-assessment, efficiency improvement and change management.
  • Manage projects to support the achievement of financial targets and savings strategies and the application of best practice financial management within the allocated portfolio.
  • Assist in the co-ordination and amalgamation of key data from across the organisation to facilitate accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ensure application of best practice internal controls systems to support management of financial and legal risks.

    CRITERIA
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive relevant experience in a large and diverse service industry organisation, or a combination of study and work experience
  • Eligible for full membership of a recognised professional accounting body, with a demonstrated knowledge of accounting concepts / standards and commitment to ongoing professional development as well as a demonstrated thorough knowledge and experience in the use of financial accounting and management reporting
  • Highly developed ability to provide effective and authoritative specialist advice and recommendations in relation to business management and service delivery issues (including financial, activity-based costing & funding, own source revenue and workforce) within a large multidisciplinary, diverse, service delivery organisation
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills including highly developed ability to consult, negotiate and delegate effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities to ensure quality outcomes and timely delivery of services
  • Highly developed and effective management and conflict resolution skills
  • Advanced computer skills utilising varied and appropriate software programs (eg word processing, data management systems and spreadsheets)
  • Current Drivers Licence and ability to travel as required
