We seek an experienced Senior Field Leader for an exciting opportunity with our client, an established Australian brand based in Geelong in the energy network service industry.
 
Reporting to the Operations Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operations management leading teams regarding network services' construction, maintenance, and restoration. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide depot leadership and accountability for safety, people, operations and delivery.
  • Provide input in and deliver operational and strategic leadership to field operations teams, direct reports, and crew members.
  • Provide support, direction, and leadership to Field Leaders in all operational and people-related tasks. 
  • Be a second escalation point for Field leaders on issue resolution, people and industrial relations matters.
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environment compliance meet the industry standards.
  • Provide leadership, ensuring the effective delivery of the work program and KPIs. 
  • Succession planning and development plans of staff members.
  • SME and lead for business improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction to field teams to enhance capability and efficiency. 
  • Lead improvement programs and drive innovation.
  • Facilitate industrial relations and health and safety engagement meetings, including building collaborative relationships and resolving industrial relations matters.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, i.e. unions/ WorkSafe.
  • Provide input to depot budgets, fleet and capital equipment.
  • Support on supply chain and logistics and the strategic management spares availability.
  • Drive efficiencies in resource optimisation relating to people, plant and equipment. 
  • Manage recruitment, incident investigations and disciplinary procedures.
 
Qualification, skills and experience: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline or Trade qualified.
  • + 8 years of demonstrated experience in a similar type of role gained in the energy, construction, telecommunications, utility or electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of the Electrical Distribution Industry (desirable).
  • Working knowledge of Employment laws and guidelines (Safety, EEO, Industrial/Employee Relations etc.)
  • +8 years working in a senior leadership role managing a large, unionised field /construction workforce (mandatory).
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with a “Can Do Attitude.”
  • Experience in workforce change and planning and implementing transformation.
  • Experience in implementing best practice field leadership and practices.
  • Experienced in workforce and succession planning.
  • Proven background in identifying, planning, and innovating business models and working in an unionised environment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to multitask.
  • Developed financial/commercial acumen.
  • Excellent Communication (verbal and written).
  • Full working rights in Australia.
