Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Data Analyst on a contract for 6 months.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work in a small team and work across policy, project management, and data analysis to assist in building technical capabilities to strengthen the role of jobactive providers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaising with stakeholders, understanding business requirements, and developing data solutions.
  • Analyse data to identify risks, opportunities and trends, using tools such as SQL server, SAS or other similar programs.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and written.
  • Ability to respond in a timely manner to ministerial briefs.
  • Management of small projects and tasks.

Skills & Experience:

The successful applicant at the APS6 level should demonstrate the following:

  • An ability to effectively gather, examine and analyse data. Think strategically to present it in an influential and clear manner to support effective decision making
  • Demonstrated experience with IT system co-design and interoperability
  • Well-developed communication skills and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships within a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills and a commitment to achieving results through taking responsibility for own work tasks, being a cooperative member of a team and successfully managing competing deadlines
  • The ability to be flexible, assisting with policy advice, briefs and ministerial responses as part of the broader responsibilities of the team.

It would be advantageous to have demonstrated knowledge or interest of:

  • The income support system and/or mutual obligation requirements, and/or
  • High quality program and project management and/or
  • SQL server management, SAS data analytics and Qlik reporting
  • Current and emerging data analytic, statistical and visual technologies.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
