We are currently recruiting for 2 Senior Contract Management Officer for our client, a NSW government agency. This is an initial 12 month contract role with possibility of extension and an hourly rate of $800-$900 per day + super, 40 hours per week. The roles are located in either Chatswood or Sydney Olympic Park and candidates can specify which of the locations they would consider. Please note that there will be a requirement to be on site for this role with limited flexibility to WFH.

The focus of this role is to support the business and contribute to the development and management of contracts with suppliers of goods & services. Experience within construction or infrastructure is essential:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, implementation and management of enterprise wide category and contract strategies for defined portfolio of sub-categories.
  • Manage pricing reviews and contract re-negotiation, attending or leading scheduled performance reviews, resolving supplier performance matters and incidents, setting work allocation for panel suppliers, participation in supplier management and development forums and preparation of recommendations for contract review.
  • Lead review project requirements to confirm adequate level of completion, liaising with necessary departments and business units
  • Manage the drafting, finalise, and seek approval on Contract Management Plans including meeting cadence and detail.
  • Provide strategies for dealing with contractual issues and variations as they are raised, and consult with the business, Legal, insurance and compliance to prepare the necessary documentation


Candidate Profile:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with infrastructure, construction and MRO sector and/or proven role experience
  • 5+ years' experience working in contract management in a large complex organisation, preferably in NSW Government or industry sector (infrastructure or construction)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing detailed Contract Management plans that include defined KPIs, a pre-determined approach to feedback, and an action plan to address non-performance issues
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with multiple stakeholders and in particular external suppliers
  • Sound understanding of contract development, supplier management and procurement metrics reporting
  • Professional Procurement (e.g. MCIPS) qualification is desirable
