Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Content Designer on a contract for 5 months.

About the Role:

Our client is looking for keen content designers to help craft simple, helpful microcopy to guide users to complete transactions in our digital platforms.

In this role you'll work closely with user experience, design and accessibility teams to analyse user stories, identify content impacts and develop interface flows. You'll draft, test and refine user-centred content for government online services. You'll also work with ICT colleagues to see your content come to life in our digital platforms. Our work is fast paced, iterative and user-focused. We enjoy facing and solving a new challenge each week and working with creative minds to provide solutions that make government services simple so our users can get on with their lives.

A communication background or product design experience is an advantage in these roles but we're also keen to hear from people from other relevant fields who can pitch their ability to perform the key duties.

Key Duties:

  • Ideate, test and iterate user-centred microcopy to assist users to make choices and complete transactions in the agency's digital platforms
  • Collaborate with user experience and user interface designers to analyse user stories, design transaction flows and apply simple helpful content.
  • Contribute to the development of channel style and content design patterns and apply these consistently.
  • Work as an integrator for stakeholders across the Communications Division to support implementation of brand, content and communication strategies for myGov.
  • Build relationships with content designers across government.
  • Provide guidance to junior content designers.

Key Skills:

  • Outstanding writing, iterating, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Proven strategic and analytic thinking capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and analyse evidence, data and research, including journey and channel mapping to write user-centred content.
  • Excellent task planning and prioritisation including a track record of working effectively and cooperatively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in or ability to work in an agile environment, including use of agile tools and processes.
  • Ability to make swift decisions using common sense judgement and ethical decision making.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have an ability to obtain and/or maintain clearance at Baseline level.
