Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Compliance Officer on a contract until June 2021.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Director Compliance the successful candidate will be part of a small state based team, and will undertake the following:

  • Work with individual providers to assist them in understanding their obligations, and where non-compliance may have occurred, guide them to address those issues and risks.
  • Where systemic issues are identified, work locally with groups of providers to promote quality improvement strategies, and across the organisation to develop education and other materials to improve compliance.
  • Undertake research and analysis to develop and support compliance responses.
  • Plan and implement compliance responses that are risk-based and proportionate to the type of alleged or suspected non-compliance.
  • Prepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, including reports, briefings and submissions.
  • Contribute to and participate in compliance promotion and education campaigns to inform and educate providers, participants and the public about the Commission's functions and the requirements of relevant legislation and rules.
  • Contribute to planning and monitoring of work processes for a small team.
  • Contribute to a learning culture where expertise can be shared
  • Behave in accordance with the values of the Commission

    The successful candidate may be required to undertake travel on a regular basis.

  • Capacity to develop excellent working relationships within the team, the Commission more broadly, and with a variety of stakeholder groups.
  • Good understanding of contemporary compliance processes and practices and experience in compliance reviews.
  • Excellent written communications skills supporting an ability to produce quality reports and briefs.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes.
  • The ability, and the confidence, to make sound judgements, based on thorough research, problem-solving, innovation and evidence-based practice, to achieve the objectives of the Compliance team and the Commission more broadly.
