Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Senior Communications Advisor on a contract for 3 months with potential extension for 3 months.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Communications leadership 
  • Work collaboratively, ensuring your work is coordinated across the Communications Program to supporting our reputation and brand through all your communications work
  • Take responsibility for the achievement of own outcomes, monitoring team progress and follow through to deliver quality outcomes
  • You will value and model professional excellence and expertise, demonstrating in your interactions with others the value of communications to the agency.
Technical delivery
Lead the planning, development and implementation of communications and engagement strategies and plans that builds trust, confidence, and understanding in the project areas.
Be a trusted adviser by providing expert communications, engagement and reputation management advice to the operational area.
  • Provide expert strategic communications advice to senior managers to support them to effectively engage and inform their staff.
  • Identify and lead innovative solutions to highly complex issues, sensitivities and reputational risks in the Australian Government context.
  • Provide strategic advice based on communications best-practice methods to ensure the Agency’s can effectively engage external audiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of external relations activities in line with the Agency's framework and global best practice.

Service delivery
  • Proactively seek and foster positive internal and external relationships by building trust in your abilities.
  • Adhere to policies, systems and processes that ensure your team’s services meet agency’s expectations of service, quality, and timeliness.
  • Undertake work that is very complex or sensitive with limited direction, calling on your colleagues across the Communications Program for expertise, experience, and insights.
  • Manage multiple priorities by being resilient, responsive, and flexible. You must be able to think on your feet and able to work under limited direction.
  • Complying with all agency work, health and safety policies and procedures, and taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.

Mandatory Requirements:
At commencement, the candidate must:
  • be eligible to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance at a minimum and NV1 Security Clearance where required, and
  • have an up to date police check with no qualifications or disclosable outcomes
