Job Specification
In this position, you will be required to perform but are not limited to the following tasks:
- developing and implementing a communications plan to support the ongoing promotion of, and communication with, the Agency’s Employer, including the launch of a program review and building the Agency’s case study database.
- developing and implementing a plan to launch and support the ongoing communications around the Agency’s new Communities of Practice platform, including managing and delivering of external events, such as webinars, data and research launches, joint events with partners and more, including marketing, communications and follow-up.
- supporting the Agency’s capacity building team to build their communication materials and communications with partners, including identifying what is needed for external communications, building content and materials and implementing external communications plans.
- using professional expertise to identify individuals and groups influencing the broader conversation around the Agency’s work and develop a strategy to track and engage with those influencers.
- contributing to other Communications and Campaigns and broader Agency projects as required.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in the following:
- write clear content that is succinct and structured which meets the needs and understanding of the intended audience, avoiding the unnecessary use of jargon or complicated language.
- have experience in managing events and/or stakeholder engagement platforms.
- possess a tertiary qualification in relevant discipline or extensive experience in communications, journalism, marketing or related field or proven industry experience.
- have in-depth knowledge of communications and experience in dealing with key communication events.
- cope with change and adjust to, and work with, a variety of situations, individuals and agencies.
- work independently and flexibly, with general direction, analysing and using judgement to select an appropriate course of action in a busy office environment to deliver on outcomes on time.
- see projects through to completion. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as required. Commit to achieving quality outcomes and adheres to documentation procedures. Seek feedback from supervisor to gauge satisfaction.
- adopt a principled approach and adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct, acting professionally at all times.
- Have baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain clearance (this includes being an Australian Citizen).
