Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Senior Clinical Project Officer

  • Work within a reputable, social sector Government agency

Position Overview:
The role of the Senior Clinical Project Officer reports to the Assistant Director - Clinical Service Improvement. You may be responsible for the supervision, mentoring and coaching of staff.
As a DVA employee and a member of the Open Arms National Operations Clinical Innovations Section, you are required to deliver high quality advice and professional services under limited supervision to Open Arms, particular in the area of web-based forums and digital service delivery.
You are required to provide leadership, build capacity and act as a resource to the Open Arms National Operations teams, working in an agile manner.

You will collaborate with Open Arms Business Operations and Regional Operations, relevant DVA business areas, and other government departments and agencies to support positive outcomes for veterans and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teams, projects and clinical quality improvement activities
  • Applying project management skills, using best practice approaches, undertaking complex stakeholder management, conducting risk assessment and providing subject matter expertise to deliver procurement activities, manage associated contracts, and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and support effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate strategic planning for longer-term initiatives, including implementing web-based forums, drafting business and project documentation, supporting consolidation of strategic priorities
  • Provide Secretariat support and assist with the development and conduct of Open Arms focus groups and Working Groups as required.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for the direct reports to effectively manage performance and encourage professional growth.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
  • Recent, relevant procurement experience within the last 12 months, an ability to lead and mentor junior staff and the capability to act as the Assistant Director - Clinical Contracts and Procurement when required.
  • Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting and/or Diploma in Procurement and Contracting and/or Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Contracting. (Desirable)
