About the opportunity

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be part of multi-disciplined team providing a wide range of engineering support, leadership, guidance and expertise across a variety of projects in the region. The key focus of this role is to prepare asset renewal programs for road, drainage and pathway infrastructure based on best practice asset management standards and aimed at optimizing lifecycle costs whilst maintaining agreed service levels. You will have the opportunity to work predominately in the planning side of business with the opportunity to champion new technology such as utilising renewables in construction and ensuring that innovative improvements on infrastructure have positive lasting impacts for the community.

About you

  • You will possess a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent as accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer under the Washington Accord)
  • You are a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • You have extensive experience and high-level knowledge in the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of roads/drainage assets in both urban and rural environments.
  • Have a high level understanding of asset management
  • Have demonstrated ability to co-ordinate a multi-disciplined team focused on quality outcomes
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with emphasis in the areas of consultation, advocacy, negotiation, influencing and assertiveness to successfully meet organisational needs.
