The Role

We have partnered with a QLD Government department to recruit a Senior Financial/Forensic Accountant for an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.
The role will be responsible for undertaking activities relating to analysing the departments transactions to determine correct allocation of cash reserves needed to support a long-term asset replacement plan.

The Responsibilities
  • Review and correct Financial Statements at reporting entity level for the past 7 years
  • Understand MoGs and have expert knowledge in Financial Statement reporting and preparation
  • Oversee and prepare technical position papers on financial accounting related matters where necessary
  • Ensure the integrity of the General Leger and Subsidiary ledgers by undertaking critical reviews and recommending action as necessary
  • Provide expertise and advice to contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of financial accounting policies, procedures, methodologies, systems and reporting


Experience
 
  • Current CPA or CA accreditation
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and understand large volumes of transactions and to report on these transactions in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing historical transactions
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing cash flow and financial statements
