Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Security Investigator Services on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

Position Overview

The Department is seeking the services of a contractor who will bring their experience in investigations and data analytics to assist in the operations of an enhanced personnel security capability that enables the Department to analyse, report and investigate security related matters, with a focus on early intervention, staff-wellbeing and enabling diversity in the workforce.

The contractor should have:

  • Practical experience in conducting civil or criminal investigations in a Commonwealth government context (e.g. Security, Code of Conduct, fraud or regulatory investigations);
  • Practical understanding of the Australian Government Investigations Standards (AGIS);
  • Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data;
  • Experience extracting and analysing data from a variety of sources;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including drafting operational and analytical reports;
  • The ability to work collaboratively and engage with relevant stakeholders and staff across department's global network;
  • The ability to understand department's diverse personnel security risk profile, including at our overseas offices; and
  • Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and a practical application of personnel security policies and practices is desirable.

The contractor will be required to:

  • Identify threats to department's security by combining and analysing multiple sets of data;
  • Produce written assessments of security risks and recommendations to mitigate them;
  • Liaise with other parts of department and external agencies to draw on their expertise and access to relevant data; and
  • Interview staff to gather information to inform assessments of security risks.

Security Clearance

  • This is a security designated position and you will be required to have Negative Vetting Level 1 (minimum) with ability to upgrade to, and maintain, Negative Vetting Level 2
