Chandler Macleod are seeking a APS4 Section Support Officer for a 12-month casual assignment, with possibility of extension. The successful candidate will hold a current DCSI Working with Children and Vulnerable People check. This position is conveniently located in the CBD and on a Monday to Friday roster.

The role of the Section Support Officer reports to the Clinical Research Officer. This position is responsible for providing administrative, secretarial and project support across the Clinical Innovations Section. The successful applicant will support the induction and orientation of staff.

Duties of the Section Support Officer

Under supervision, contribute to the client's program of works to support high quality mental health service delivery, including but not limited timely administrative, financial, secretariat and project support.
This includes:

  • Supporting teams, projects and clinical quality improvement activities
  • Managing the Section inbox, completing tracking sheets, monitoring clearance of documentation, and undertaking electronic filing
  • Inducting and orienting Section members
  • Supporting and monitoring Section members' compliance with the Activity App (an application to record time spent on service delivery activities)
  • Booking meetings and travel
  • Processing invoices, credit card reconciliation, and developing and managing the Chart of Accounts
  • Drafting procurement and project documentation

There are no mandatory clinical qualifications required. Qualifications, skills and experience in mental health, psychology, social sciences, humanities or a related field, change management, project management, business administration, and financial management are highly regarded.

Attention to detail, well-developed written and oral communication, secretarial and administrative skills and/or qualifications are essential for this role.

This role has many competing priorities. The successful applicant must be IT proficient, with sound skills in the use of Excel, and be able to work flexibly across multiple issues with guidance.
