Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Secretariat a contract until June 2021, with potential extensions of 2X 12 months.

Position Overview

The Client's program provides the strategic link to industry and employers. The body will establish working groups to undertake specific investigative projects to provide advice and recommendations for the Chief of the client. This advice will inform policy to enhance the recruitment, retention, and utilisation of Reservists.

The Secretariat position has a leading role in supporting DRES create a stronger focus on relationships with Reservists and their employers.

Duties/Role

  • Support the working group's administrative processes.
  • Ongoing maintenance of clear and concise induction material and standard operating procedures OPs) for engaging with new members.
  • Provide secretariat support to the working groups including:
    • Manage the organisation and conduct of sessions and working groups; and
    • Provide administrative support to the working groups, including acting as secretary at meetings.
  • Prepare reports from working groups, and navigate the required approval processes.
  • Provide timely advice and guidance to the chair and members on requirements for financial, governance and other reporting procedures and processes.
  • Organise travel arrangements for the chair and members, including acquittals of expenses.
  • Undertake Ministerial writing tasks including submissions, briefs and responses to representations.
  • Coordinate administrative processes for appointments.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience Requirements

  • This position requires an individual with high level organisation, coordination and management skills are essential. Prior secretariat experience or project management roles are desirable.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
