Team, reporting and relationships: This position reports to the General Manager, Custom. The Sales Consultant will manage existing customer accounts, new leads, drive new sales and maintain the high-level of service that Lovelight customers expect and receive.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a portfolio of existing customer accounts as allocated
  • Follow up and manage new leads generated out of existing accounts
  • Foster new relationships with boutique builders, architects and interior designers to attract new opportunities and sales
  • Build strong communication channels with customers including in person, phone and email
  • Learn and demonstrate advanced product knowledge and keep on top of new products and suppliers' offerings
  • Understand how to make products appeal to customers based on the environment and current trends
  • Recommend and select products for customers based on their individual idea, plan, budget, visual expectations and requirements
  • Build a strong relationship and clear communications with operations support team members to ensure job is quoted as per specifications.
  • Understand all systems, pricing and estimating processes and work closing with operations to ensure seamless on time quotes and delivery
  • Attend site inspections, measures and installations with the technician, Project Manager and the customer.
  • Schedule and forecast sales and ensure invoicing is up to date on Tracker
  • There may be times when your manager asks you to complete tasks in addition to the above

Must have qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • A successful sales career and an appetite to meet and exceed targets
  • At least five years' experience in a similar role in window furnishings or a directly applicable industry Qualifications in interior design will be looked upon favourably
  • The ability to quickly learn window furnishing applications and limitations
  • A strong network of contacts such as architects, interior designers and builders
  • A desire to analyse data, crunch the numbers and evaluate performance
  • An outgoing and engaging personality, with the ability to quickly build rapport, and in the longer term become a trusted colleague
  • The ability to quickly develop and maintain working relationships with other team members.
  • Being super-organised, with an eye for detail and process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of computer proficiency
