Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS4 Risk Support Officer on a contract for 3 months with potential extension of 3 months.

About the Role:

Our Client is seeking an experienced Risk Officer at the APS4 Level to join Enterprise Risk in the Enterprise Risk, Audit and Investigations Branch. Enterprise Risk is responsible for providing the enterprise risk management services for the department through:

  • Delivering activities that develop, oversee, coordinate, and implement the department's enterprise risk management arrangements.
  • Maintaining the department's enterprise risk management system and providing departmental user training for the system.
  • Providing secretariat support to the Risk, Security and Governance Committee.
  • Managing the department's Comcover insurance policy, the Comcover Insurance Premium Renewal and Risk Benchmarking survey.
  • Delivering activities to support the Chief Risk officer manage the department's Climate Change and Disaster risk activities.
  • Coordination and reporting of the department's complaint handling function.
  • The team works in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across the department and with other APS agencies including portfolio agencies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop training and guidance materials
  • Assist in facilitating workshops (including virtual)
  • Review and update the section's departmental documentation and intranet presence
  • Manage the section's shared drives files and outlook folders
  • Manage the risk hotline and email
  • Undertake basic research and other administrative tasks to support the team's work.

Skills & Experience:

  • An understanding of the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy and Principles
  • A fundamental knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management arrangements and risk systems
  • High attention for detail
  • Manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accountability and commitment to complete assigned tasks
  • Personal drive and a willingness to contribute to team culture

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
