Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Risk Specialist to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of 18 Months.

Based in Sydney's CBD, this agency is tasked with implementing programs that support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.

About the Team:

The Risk Advisory Branch supports the Agency to assess and manage risks. The branch supports risk owners to identify and manage risks inherent in their operating activities and strategic initiatives. They develop controls to mitigate risks and facilitate improved risk awareness and training, reporting on emerging risk profiles and trends

About the role:

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing specialist risk advice to bespoke and interdependent projects and programs within the Agency, covering both project and operational risks.
  • Guiding the implementation and utilisation of the Agency's project risk management approach as embedded risk specialists within project and program management teams.
  • Reviewing and providing specialist risk input on documentation including project briefs, design specifications and artefacts to ensure appropriate identification and consideration of related project, operational and fraud risks.
  • Assist with the identification, assessment and validation of key risks, issues, controls and treatment plans throughout the project and/or program lifecycle, including cross dependency risks between projects and programs.
  • Capturing and monitoring risk data and oversight of project and/program risk registers.
  • Monitoring and analysing trends in program or project risk management and reporting insights / escalating issues to the Risk Advisory Branch Manager and Chief Risk Officer.
  • Supporting the development and advocacy of the Agency's project risk management system.
  • Managing, delivering and monitoring projects that may have an organisation-wide impact.
  • Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework and considering project interdependencies.
