Our client, one of Australia's leading resources companies, is seeking to engage a competent Mechanical Reliability Engineer as their Perth metropolitan-based refinery as a contributing member of the Site Reliability Team, working closely with stakeholders and customers including the Capital Projects Delivery Team and Site Operations Team.

The role will based in Kwinana until end FY22, offers a Monday to Friday roster working a 40 hour week. Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent, as a Reliability Engineer - Mechanical, you will be involved in supporting the Site's maintenance function to achieve maintenance excellence. You must demonstrate the ability to understand equipment criticality and perform FMEA analysis to develop fit for purpose mechanical maintenance strategies.

In this role you will:

  • Improve Reliability to Optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Minimise Costs.
  • Analyse plant data and work with our Customers to identify and implement reliability
  • improvements to lead prioritised improvement projects.
  • Lead/participate in root cause analysis investigations on breakdowns to eliminate defects.
  • Deliver Operations Readiness Deliverables to Set New Equipment for Operational Success.
  • Design and deploy fit for purpose maintenance strategies through the Failure Mode Analysis &
  • Effect (FMEA) process for new equipment, this includes developing master data for projects including functional location structures, cataloguing, equipment bills of materials, task lists, maintenance items and plans.
  • Develop work instructions or similar documentation in alignment with the maintenance strategy and requirements for maintenance tasks.
  • Commit to Safety: Uphold safety standards and procedures designed to enable us to work safely and effectively.
  • Engage and lead by example in safety activities and discussions daily to promote safety.
  • Actively identify and implement safety improvements


The successful candidate will require:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or approved equivalent; and
  • Strong engagement skills and a customer focused mindset to constantly communicate effectively and build mutually beneficial relationships with our Customers.
  • Proven working knowledge of Reliability Engineering concepts and with experience on tools such as FMEA, RCA, or similar.
  • Working experience with Operations Readiness.
  • Have a strong experience in Work Management and Material Master Data Management particularly in the SAP environment.
  • 10-15 years' experience with demonstrated experience in minerals / metals processing plants.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation; control systems; and process and functional safety.
