Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Regulatory Officers on a contract for 5-6 months.

Position Overview

The successful contractor(s) will need to have the following experience and skills:

  • Ability to acquire knowledge quickly and prioritise, manage or escalate issues and work
  • Good attention to detail, organisation and communications skills
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and to work in a flexible environment as part of the LRET
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, across teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work within information frameworks, including privacy, secrecy and record keeping rules.
  • Experience working in or with the renewable energy industry is desirable
  • Work full-time including 7.5 hours per day five days per week (business days).
  • Hold or be able to hold a baseline security clearance

The role will include the following duties:

  • The large-scale renewables section (LSR) supports the renewable energy industry through a certificate trading scheme. As a Regulatory Support Officer in the team, you would assist with accreditation of new power stations.
  • To ensure an efficient market the section validates the creation of large-scale generation certificates (LGCs). This requires analysis of generation data and working with generators to correct any possible errors.
  • Research and draft documents, briefing material and correspondence relevant to the administration of the Large-Scale Renewable Energy Target and the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2001 and associated regulations.
  • Engage with and provide technical legislative and policy advice to internal and external clients, government, and the renewable energy industry.
  • Develop and present presentations to upskill, educate and inform internal and external clients.
