Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS4 Recruitment Officer for 6 Months Contract with possibility of potential extension.

Position Overview

The Recruitment Officer in the People Support section of Corporate Services Branch supports the day to day administration and delivery of recruitment and onboarding matters, including participating in planning and decision making within the work area.

The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex in nature, under general direction, utilising functional expertise within the area of public sector recruitment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process and provide advice on recruitment activities, including the advertising of positions, selection panel composition, applications, selection process outcomes and onboarding requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of recruitment arrangements that are or could be accessed by the agency, including, delivery of recruitment related training and templates for the agency's use.
  • Participate in, complete and provide support to recruitment projects as required.
  • Conduct research and analysis, providing reports and conclusions on findings and assist in the drafting of policy and delivery of projects.
  • Build rapport and maintain stakeholder relationships, including liaising with stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex issues.
  • Provide sound advice which influences decisions made by others.
  • Communicate and make decisions within defined boundaries relating to the area of responsibility using expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by the Management from time to time

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly acquire recruitment related legislation, policies, procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated client focus and commitment to providing accurate and professional advice to clients.
  • Ability to achieve results, work under pressure with close attention to detail, to organise priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst liaising with stakeholders and assisting to resolve issues across a geographically dispersed network.
  • Ability to conduct analysis and research and report on findings with the ability to contribute new ideas and identify opportunities for business efficiency improvement.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
