Chandler Macleod are excited to partner with our client who have engaged with us in search for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established national company in the agriculture industry on a full-time permanent basis.

The role:

The Quality Manager is accountable for the Aquafeeds division of the business delivering significant sustained improvements across Quality at the Brisbane location and to provide leadership, direction and guidance to site personnel to ensure the delivery of safe and quality products to the market.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and develop site specific quality documentation, including developing and enhancing retail packing capabilities.
  • Maintain, deliver and drive Quality systems including the HACCP plan and its pre-requisite programs to ensure it delivers in controlling identified hazards. Ensure compliance to the CCP and pre-requisite program.
  • Assess raw material and packaging material against key supplier performance criteria by reviewing trends and following best practice.
  • Ensure timely resolution of FROC and on hold products / materials and ensure follow through with corrective actions to fix the issues.
  • Manage customer complaints and investigate quality incidents
  • Support Aquafeeds division in the acquisition and maintenance of external certifications
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assist in the successful application of NPD.
  • Potential for infrequent travel to customers.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Specialised qualifications or equivalent in Quality
  • Extensive experience in Quality Management systems and process
  • Retail Manufacturing experience
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Competent and experienced in the area of Quality Management and Quality Assurance
  • Exceptional leadership abilities
  • Ability to plan, direct work and deliver in line with schedule
  • Capability in developing and delivering training programs


  • Experience and solid understanding of Agriculture industry
  • Experience & qualifications with Quality systems certifications such as HACCP, 5s and retail expectations
  • Ability to work independently, autonomously and within teams and above all, an ability to just 'make things happen'
  • Experience in management systems, such as HSEQ
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, safety/enviro, food technology, nutrition or equivalent experience
