An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join our client Baiada, a leading poultry processing facility in Hanwood known for its tasty chicken products. This opportunity requires you to be on the front line, training and assessing employees across the entire Baiada processing plant.
The primary responsibility of a QA Officer is to ensure that product produced is fit for human consumption and animal consumption where applicable. The position is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager/Co-coordinator in the support and delivery of operational excellence. You will be proactively coordinating and implementing quality assurance activities and initiatives as well as driving quality and food safety through compliance within the processing plant.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Background in poultry processing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job"
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment to resolve problems or improve systems
  • Ability to achieve departmental targets (meet Baiada guidelines)
  • Detailed knowledge of all products and processes within scope; and general knowledge of products and processes affecting or are affected by processing
  • A sound knowledge of all Baiada guidelines and Australian Standard AS4465
