Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an EL1 Quality and Safety Manager on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate ongoing implementation and monitoring of the CHO quality framework and develop and promote risk assessment and management processes to support the CHO's strategic direction.
  • Establish sound quality management policies and processes for the CHO Division, and identify opportunities for nationally consistent processes across the Division.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team with ongoing implementation of the quality aspects of the CHO Operating Model and the clinical governance framework.
  • Provide quality assurance advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team across areas of service delivery.
  • Lead the coordination of CHO Division quality improvement initiatives, projects and activities to assist the CHO Executive team to continually review the Division's practices.
  • Maintain oversight of the Division's incident / feedback management process.
  • Participate in data collection, collation and analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Advisers Health and Compensation and business areas to support quality activities.
  • Prepare reports, briefing papers and communication material as required by Senior Leadership Team on quality and compliance activities.


Your application will be assessed against the EL1 Integrated Leadership System (ILS)

  • Demonstrated capability in the implementation and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives and systems (clinical governance, safety & quality), in the health care sector.
  • Strong critical analytic skills and an ability to apply evidence-based research principles to shape strategic thinking.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with influence with both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to explore change possibilities and innovative alternatives to meet operational tasks and organisational goals in delivering effective clinical governance in a geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to pressure and remain focused through setbacks.


  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen to apply.
  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in a health discipline or relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a safety and quality management, or clinical governance position.


  • Current unrestricted registration as a Health practitioner with Ahpra.
  • Experience leading and implementing a clinical governance framework.
