Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Project Support Officer on a contract for 22 months.

Position Overview

The SO2 L200-3 Lead is responsible for managing the project acquisition and introduction into service of critical Battlefield Management Systems. The L200 series of projects has been subject to delay, Government oversight, and external audits. The Project Support position will coordinate the capability development team contributions to committees, meetings and working groups, perform secretariat functions, manage information/documents, Objective workflows, and team administration. The position work closely with their respective team leads, as well as the Capability Development Support person, to ensure the efficient and effective operation of their respective teams. This position works to the SO2 L200-3 Lead and SO1 Capability Development.

The following describes the duty statement and requirements of the Project Support:

  • Coordinate information flows, including managing group email inboxes, and the objective records management system.
  • Conduct data entry tasks into applications and databases including Capability One, Predict, and MSOffice
  • Coordinate across stakeholders, and coordinate returns including consolidating information into centralised briefs.
  • Manage task tracking and reporting, via SharePoint and MSTeams.
  • Coordinate returns and prepare agenda, presentations, rooms and attendees for forums including IPMT, and Capability Management Boards.
  • Support audits and other Program governance activities.
  • Provide support, within discipline, to other functional areas in Land C4 Program.
  • Conduct other administrative tasks as required.

The following essential skills, experience and attributes are sought for Level 2, Project Support:

Required Skills/Attributes:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven experience in project schedule development.

Desired Skills/Attributes:

  • Previous scheduling experience in Defence ICT projects.

The following desirable skills and backgrounds are sought for Level 2 personnel:

  • Possible qualifications or practical experience outside of their immediate field of expertise. Developing skills in project/program management, systems engineering, communications, business management, or information technology backgrounds are valued.
  • Developing an understanding of Joint and domain-specific staff processes within operational and tactical level headquarters. This offers potential for increased effectiveness through ADF engagement and the translation of requirements and priorities for product sustainment and LC4 Program acquisition.
  • Some knowledge or experience working in the Defence Capability Lifecycle process, governance structures, and committee processes.
