Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a EL1 Project/Program Manager on a contract for 9 months with potential extension of 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project / Program Managers would be required to undertake a range of activities, which may include:

  • implementing large scale programs working closely with IT
  • providing expertise and knowledge of project management to promote best practice
  • providing accurate and informed advice to build the capability of the team
  • setting project priorities, maintaining team cohesion and ensuring quality outputs are delivered
  • developing and maintaining project documentation including plans and reports
  • developing and implementing project objectives for short term and strategic project plans
  • developing, implementing, and monitoring budget, controls, and strategies
  • identifying, documenting, monitoring, and overseeing project risk, quality standards and tolerances
  • facilitating connections with colleagues and other Government Agencies
  • procurement, program, and contract drafting and management
  • policy lead for each program, including identification and establishment of new policies and contracting arrangements
  • providing policy advice and support including facilitating connections with colleagues and other Government Agencies
  • managing each program's integrity, risk, and assurance processes
  • produce briefs, minutes, reports and other documents and statistical reports to a high standard.

Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities/experience and/or qualifications:

  • qualifications and/or extensive experience in policy, program management, contract management, business, law, or related fields
  • high levels of interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to ensure deliverables contribute to achieving a large-scale reform
  • strategic thinking and conceptual skills
  • planning and organisational skills
  • sound judgement and the ability to effectively lead a team
  • agility and resilience to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
