Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Project Officer on a contract for 12 Months, with potential extension.

Position Overview

The APS6 Project Officer will support senior members of the branch to undertake sensitive work that is of significant public interest. The role will work across multiple projects, leading independently as well as contributing to projects across the branch. The role is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.

The APS6 Project Officer will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking procedural and administrative functions to support branch objectives, including tracking, monitoring and reporting on stakeholder management interactions and activities.
  • Understanding, analysing and interpreting policies, strategies and work plans.
  • Providing updates on work outputs, identifying trends and implementing changes to facilitate team objectives against specific outcomes.
  • Managing and coordinating project tasks, and providing support on procedures and project objectives.
  • Supporting the preparation of formal briefing material.
  • Providing support on established technical, operational and administrative activities.
