Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Project Officer on a contract for 7 months with potential extension 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Committee secretariat and administrative responsibilities including briefings and reports for the Senior Executive and development of regular updates to the relevant advisory committees
  • Contributing to various reporting, administration and coordination tasks
  • Managing and building stakeholder relationships including responding to stakeholder requests, collating, and disseminating relevant information, resolving problems, escalating issues when required, and effectively prioritising responses to stakeholders
  • Assisting with the development of various internal communication campaigns and materials
  • Contributing to the development, review and continuous improvement of procedures related to Fraud Prevention, Assurance and Compliance
  • Assist program areas to develop robust Assurance processes in line with the department's Assurance Strategy and Framework
  • Undertake a comprehensive review and stocktake of existing departmental compliance, assurance and integrity measures
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the central repository of provider information
  • Ongoing monitoring of enterprise level compliance issues

Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities/experience and/or qualifications:


  • High proficiency in the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and meet deadlines
  • Initiative, and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to think conceptually as well as creatively
  • solutions focused mindset and the ability to utilise evidence to support arguments and policy interpretations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with people from across the department


  • We are looking for strong administrative skills, Microsoft suite proficiency especially excel. Prior experience in compliance would be beneficial but not essential

Mandatory Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline security clearance.
