The Chandler Macleod group are searching for x2 Project Managers on a 12 month (possible 24 months extension available) temporary casual assignment based in Adelaide CBD.

About the role

Project Manager 1

The Project Manager, Enabling Design is responsible for harnessing the required technical expertise to lead the projects associated with design and implementation of NRWMF enabling infrastructure (roads, communications, water supply and electrical systems) and the development of the NRWMF operational flow model. You will also procure expert advice and conduct operational research for transport to develop this core capability within the client.

You will integrate work across the NRWMF program to ensure all aspect of the site characterisation, facility design, regulatory requirements, future operations and community expectations are taken into account in the enabling design. You will manage this work in accordance with the relevant budgetary/funding arrangements.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Project management, including:

  • Develop the request for quotes
  • Scope and evaluate contract requirements
  • Identify and integrate multiple contract requirements that have interdependencies
  • Arrange, support and contribute to progress meetings and review points including feedback
  • Verify and evaluate information and reports, and make recommendations
  • Coordinate integration of input and outputs
  • Monitor spend and quality management and contract management plans

Ensure information management and systems are maintained

Conflict and dispute resolution

Negotiate and manage contract variations.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Experience in project management, with formal project management qualifications highly regarded
  • Experience managing multiple complex contracts simultaneously
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop productive professional relationships across disciplines to achieve shared outcomes
  • Model a workplace culture that embraces safety and security, is collaborative and inclusive
  • Experience in, or a sound understanding of the radioactive waste industry would be an advantage.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills that foster trust and cooperation, and a proven ability to work effectively and with integrity within a politically sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile and adaptable supporting colleagues at short notice

Project Manager 2

The Project Manager, Safety Cases provides technical leadership through strong project management expertise, fostering a healthy culture of innovation and an ethical code of conduct. You will serve as a role model for quality, safety, and security performance.

This role will manage the delivery of the safety cases for the NRWMF, including the provision of specialist input as identified below:

  • Safety cases
  • Development and drafting of short term LLW disposal safety case
  • Development and drafting of short term ILW long term storage safety case
  • Development of long term LLW disposal safety case
  • Specialist inputs for safety cases
  • Aircraft risk crash assessment
  • Aircraft risk crash assessment - provisional tasks
  • Land use planning for aircraft
